How to get to Akumal from Cancun

Akumal is a small seaside resort on the Riviera Maya and is only 10 minutes away from the city of Tulum.  Even though it is a small place, it holds a natural beauty that captivates the hundreds of travelers who frequent it.

How to get to Akumal from Cancun

Akumal is located 105 km from the city of Cancun and approximately the transfer time is 1 hour and 40 minutes.  Because both distance and time is “a lot”, transfer options are limited to private transfer service, ADO and colectivos.

Private Transfer

Buses

From downtown Cancun, in front of the ADO bus terminal, you can take a bus from Playa Express. The destination of this bus is the city of Playa del Carmen, but just 2 minutes from its base in Playa del Carmen, you can take the second bus: Transfer Service to Tulum. as such has as its destination the center of Tulum, but when passing through Akumal you can request to get off and the driver will stop without any problem.

It is worth mentioning that the cost of each colectivo is 55.00 MXN, therefore you would be spending 110.00 MXN.
