    How to get to Akumal from Cancun

    Akumal is located 105 km from the city of Cancun and approximately the transfer time is 1 hour and 40 minutes.  Because both distance and time is “a lot”, transfer options are limited to private transfer service, ADO and colectivos.

    Private Transfer

    If you are anywhere in the city of Cancun or arriving at the Cancun airport, the best option to go to Akumal is the Caribe Shuttle transfer service.

    As there is no direct ADO route from Cancun to Akumal, the destination as such is the city of Tulum and from downtown Tulum, you can take another transfer to get to Akumal. Remember that Akumal is only 10 minutes away from the city of Tulum.

    Buses

    From downtown Cancun, in front of the ADO bus terminal, you can take a bus from Playa Express. The destination of this bus is the city of Playa del Carmen, but just 2 minutes from its base in Playa del Carmen, you can take the second bus: Transfer Service to Tulum. as such has as its destination the center of Tulum, but when passing through Akumal you can request to get off and the driver will stop without any problem.

    It is worth mentioning that the cost of each colectivo is 55.00 MXN, therefore you would be spending 110.00 MXN.
